Peter came through with another pic. The man is trying to accomplish the impossible… by collecting all 20 Pumps from the 20th Anniversary Pump Collaboration. Theres only 31 pairs per style made in the World so its no easy task! Peter only needs 6 more to complete the set! That Espionage Pump is looking good!
We first got to know Peter from our Espionage x Reebok Pump event. You guessed it, Peter copped both original Bringback Pumps as well as Reebok x Espionage Pumps. Peter send us photos of his jaw-dropping Original Bringback Pump Collection. And he is one of the few people in the World with Nike Air Pressure (Nike’s version of the Pumps).
ESPIONAGE: Yo Pete,whats good? I’d have to say thats a sick Air 180 collection! Definitely the biggest and best collection Ive seen! You got all areas covered! How long have you been collecting and you only do Air 180s?
PETER: I’ve only been round Nike Air Max 180, Air Structures and the Bringback Pumps. But I only have 6 of the best in the structures now.. which are 2 samples and 4 general releases.
I had to sell most due to the prices that the pumps are going for as well as becoming unhappy with what Nike is doing with the structures.
ESPIONAGE: Apparently retro structures arent doing so well and Nike gave them the chop. So how deep is your collection? And you have all of them on rotation or are most of them on ice? Any favourites?
PETER: I don’t wear any of what I have in dead stock condition and 95% of my 180′s are DS… unless I have 2 pairs or I’d buy a used pair to rock (in which I would still be looking for a pair in dead stock condition). I don’t have a favorite but the hot lime is my everyday 180 to wear and was also the colorway I had back in 1991 for how ever long they lasted. So yeah you can say all my sneakers are on ice.
ESPIONAGE: How and When did this sneaker addiction started?
PETER: One word sums it up… NOSTALGIA. Had them back in the day is why I am getting them now!
ESPIONAGE: Whats your advice to kids out there who are inspired by your collection wants to start their own pile?
PETER: Pick a shoes you love that don’t cost a packet & a half that’s what I’d tell ‘em..
ESPIONAGE: You mean shop at Espionage? LOL. We do have the biggest range for sneakers anywhere! What style would you like to see retroed from Nike or any of the other footwear brands out there?
PETER: What shoes do I want to see come back? Well, Reebok did the one that I always wanted so bad so they’re done… but me and alot of other peeps would LOVE to see NIKE AIR PRESSURE PUMPS FROM 1989 back on the shelves.. other then that Nike and Reebok have given me what I wanted.
ESPIONAGE: I Doubt the Air Pressures would sit on the shelves for a minute, more like flying off the shelves! Any last words for everyone else who share the same love for sneakers?
